Something: with my life/existence.
Someone: with God.

Yes, I know I’m always talking about Him. But my entire life is centered around God and it will always be. He is woven into every crevice of my existence even if I never recognized it; but I do and I’m very grateful.

How can I explain this more clearly…?

The world often teaches us to fall in love with people, things or fleeting moments, placing them on pedestals they were never meant to stand on. But I believe that true love–unshaken and boundless–belongs to God alone; at least for me it is. I’m not saying that I don’t love others. In fact, because I love God first, I am able to love people more fully, deeply and selflessly. I’m able to meet people where they are in all their imperfection, and can accept it as well. The Holy Spirit within me enables me to love in a way that is pure and unwavering–unconditional–not dependent on human expectations but rooted in divine truth.

“I love Him because He first loved me.” -John 4:19

He saved me in all the ways a person could ever be saved (channeling titanic a bit here, but I’m serious). He is still here today, keeping His promise to never leave me nor forsake me (Deuteronomy 31:8).

So, while I may not have “fallen in love with the world’s idea of “romance”, I have fallen in love with the life God has blessed me with (which includes the people He has brought to me as well). Every breath is a reminder of His mercy. Every sunrise is a testament to His faithfulness. Every trial I endure is another opportunity to lean on His strength and grow. My love is not of this world, it is anchored in what is eternal.

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” -Colossians 3:2

“For your Maker is your husband; the Lord of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall He be called.” -Isaiah 54:5

God is my first love, my greatest love and my everlasting love. It doesn’t matter what comes and goes during my life here, because I have HIM! With Him all good things flow, and He means every promise He makes, so I can always count on Him to come through. He has been there for me in ways no one else ever could, and because of Him, I am able to love life with a heart full of gratitude and joy. I lack nothing. Every morning I wake up and can’t wait to tell Him “thank you”; for everything.

I hope this message provided you with a new way of viewing love. Either way,

I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you,

I love you with the love of God; I see you as so unique and precious, just as He sees you!
