...Jesus (of course), Enoch and Moses.
There are others that I deeply admire, but these three resonate with me in such a personal and spiritual way. They were men who lived their lives walking with God—truly walking with Him. While Enoch and Moses weren’t perfect like Jesus, they had such intimate relationships with the Father that I can only imagine what they must have experienced in their lifetimes. Their stories in Scripture are more than history—they are living examples of how deep, real and transformative a relationship with God can be.
Sometimes I think of myself as a student, watching them through the pages of the Bible, studying their hearts and choices. I wonder, Could understanding how they lived bring me closer to God too?
The Bible says,
“Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” — Genesis 5:24
And Moses? He got to see the back of God pass by. Can you imagine that? His face was glowing after the fact:
“Then the Lord said, ‘There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock… I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.’” — Exodus 33:21–22
But even with such divine encounters, they were still human. And so am I. Sometimes I think about my own life and wonder what my story will say in Heaven. The Word tells us:
“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life… and the dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.” — Revelation 20:12
One day, God is going to open my book. And I often wonder: What will it say? Will it show the times I stumbled? Will it capture the moments I pursued people or things never meant for me? And I admit, sometimes I feel ashamed thinking about it. I wasn’t like Enoch or Moses—I made many mistakes, learned very painful lessons, and at times didn’t listen when God was warning me.
But my Father is so merciful. He was walking with me the whole way, even when I wasn’t.
He doesn’t treat me like others have. He’s doesn’t lie or play games. He’s not harsh, condemning or unforgiving. Instead, He gently lifts my chin, wipes my tears and reminds me:
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” — Psalm 103:12
He tells me it’s okay, and that He’s still writing. What’s broken can be mended. What’s lost can be found. Someone once told me “the damage was done,” but God said something else:
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” — Jeremiah 32:27
Because of Jesus, I know this is true. He overcame the world—and because He did, so can I (John 16:33). Even if I’m not the one who “was not” like Enoch or the one who stood in the cleft of the rock like Moses, I am Rosalyn. God’s personal Rose. And He told me that Himself.
So yes, if I had a dinner party and these three were at the table, we would talk about God the entire time. I’m sure of it. We’d talk about His majesty, His mercy, and His love. And I know He’d be there with us. To me, that’s the perfect kind of company, no matter what level we are on with Him, because we’ll be taking about the only things that truly matters:
יהוה
After all, He wrote The Book of Rosalyn Rose with His own hands—carefully, thoughtfully and with infinite love. And to me, that’s more beautiful than anything I could ever ask for or imagine.
“Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” — Psalm 139:16
So I’ll keep studying. I’ll keep learning. I’ll keep growing. I’ll keep loving my Abba Yah—because being in His arms, where I am known, safe and wholly cherished… is the only place I ever want to be. I’m never going back to the worldly life I used to live, now that I have The Truth.
Amen.
