....I would help those in need, buy a plot of land to build a small house and farm/garden and pay off any debt.
Helping those in need:
Not just by giving money, but by giving carefully, prayerfully, and intentionally—the way God gives to us. I wouldn’t just want to throw money at people’s problems, but instead be led by the Spirit to sow into lives God puts on my heart. Whether it’s helping someone out of homelessness, lifting a burden off a struggling single parent, or quietly paying off someone’s debt, I’d want every act of giving to be rooted in love and obedience.
As it says in Proverbs 19:17:
“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.”
Giving isn’t just kindness—it’s an offering to The One who sees all.
This desire to give also comes from lived experience. People have been there for me when I had no one and nothing. I know what it’s like to feel hopeless, abandoned, and forgotten. But God sent people—angels in disguise—who helped keep me afloat when things were at their darkest. I’ll never stop praying for them, asking God to pour out blessings on them in return. They restored my hope in humanity—that not all people will leave you high and dry without even looking back. Some truly carry God’s heart.
If I were ever financially blessed, especially in a big way like winning the lottery, I’d consider it a divine assignment. I’d want to be that same light to someone else–to pay the blessing forward.
The next thing I’d do is invest in peace:
I want to buy a few acres of land and build a tiny house. I’d have a little farm with chickens, pigs, sheep maybe, and a garden full of fruits, vegetables, and grains. Everything would be homemade and home-cooked—simple, nourishing, and full of love. I’d live off my land, slow down, and enjoy the rhythm of life the way God designed it.
It would be a peaceful, secluded little life—joyful in its quiet simplicity. And I’d only invite the sweet souls I’ve had the pleasure of knowing in this life to visit or stay. It would be a home where peace lives, and God is welcome in every room. A place for prayer, creativity, rest, and fellowship. It would be a simple life, just the way I like it.
The Bible speaks beautifully about this kind of lifestyle:
“…aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands… so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.” —1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
Of course, I would also pay off any debts:
I believe in living free—not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually, too. I’ve been really working on all that over the past few years and it’s nearly accomplished now! The world teaches us to chase and owe, but Christ came to cancel debts and offer us rest. In a big way, we have all won the lottery when Jesus died for us. We didn’t even have to work for it. He made it impossibly easy for us. The catch (if there ever was one): It is up to us to accept His free gift.
As Romans 13:8 reminds us:
“Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.”
That’s the only debt I ever want to carry: love.
Whether I ever win the lottery or not, my heart remains the same. If I am blessed, I want it to be for others’ good, not just my own. Because ultimately, everything I receive is from God—and everything I give is just a return of what He already gave me.
“The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.” — Proverbs 10:22
That’s the kind of life I dream of. One that’s full of meaning, purpose, simplicity, and love. And if it be God’s will, I’d be honored to walk in that kind of blessing—with open hands and a grateful heart.
What about you? What would you spend your lottery winnings on?
I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you!
