..."God is with you today. Don't worry."
I’ve had a screenshot of this message for the past five—maybe even more—years. And every time I read it again, it speaks to me differently, deeper. Like it grows with me. Sometimes, I come across it randomly, just when I need it most. But this time… this time, I didn’t question it. I didn’t second-guess whether God really sees me or if those words were just meant for someone else. I simply received them. Wholeheartedly.
Because if He said it, then it must be true.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1
He is always telling us not to worry:
Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV)
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they?
Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
Matthew 6:34 (NIV)
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
He is always telling us that He is with us:
Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.”
Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them,
for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Genesis 28:15 (NIV)
“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go,
and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
Matthew 28:20 (NIV) – Jesus speaking
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
He is constantly reassuring us (in our insecurity). That truth is everything to me now. The more I walk with God, the more I realize His Word is not just ancient wisdom—it’s alive. It’s active. It moves. It breathes. It meets you where you are. If you really believe in what the Word says, you begin to live like you do. And when you live like you do, you begin to see the fruit of that faith unfold in your life.
I’ve lived long enough to know what it means to lose things. To be down to nothing. But God has been the one thing I’ve never lost. Even when I didn’t feel Him near, He was there. Especially then.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” —Psalm 23:4
To me, knowing that God is with me—really with me—is everything in existence. I need Him every second. I depend on Him not just for provision, but for breath, for guidance, for comfort, for peace.
“He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” —Psalm 91:4
The message I read—“God is with you today. Don’t worry.”—reminds me of that constant truth. It’s like a love note from heaven, tucked into my day when I forget. It’s a whisper that pulls me back to peace. Because with God by my side, I have everything I need.
I’ve learned to accept that. Not just with my mind, but with my whole soul. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
God is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. And He always will be.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” —Matthew 28:20
