...nothing...because I didn't live a past life.
Pasts lives don’t exist. You’re allowed to believe whatever you wish though. God did grant us the gift of free choice. But, as for me, I know without a doubt that I have just this one life to live and it’s happening right now.
“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,” -Hebrews 9:27
That’s what makes this so incredibly precious; you only get one chance at this simulation. And yes, that’s what this all is: a simulation. Some people like to compare it to the matrix, which is similar to what I’m referring to. But really, if you think about it–life–you come to realize that this temporary time that flies by so fast is only a test.
It’s a test of your character, your spirit, who you truly are at the heart of it all. Our choices are on display and recorded constantly in the books that God has on us in heaven. When this is all over, He is going to open those books and read them to us, knowing our true intensions behind how we lived. This includes if we have a relationship with God and how we treat others in this world. It also includes how we treat ourselves.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” -2 Corinthians 5:10
Usually, the issues that exude outward in our actions reflects what’s brewing deep within us about ourselves, whether we realize that or not. It’s best if you realize that sooner than later, as not to waste years of misdirection; trying to figure life out on your own based on your human standards. It will always leave you feeling empty; wanting more.
So what’s the point of storing up treasure here on earth, whether you live one life or many? You cannot keep it once your soul lives the vessel it’s inhabited.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” -Matthew 6:19-21
So many people live like they will exist here forever and life goes by in the blink of an eye. The older you become, the faster times seems to go! It’s like a race to the finish line, but…what will your “prize” be?
I’m looking forward to meeting my Elohim, my Savior face to face and He being pleased with my effort despite my imperfections. I pray that God can see how much I’ve tried to do the right thing, especially the older I’ve gotten.
“So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” -Colossians 1:10
“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship… Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” -Romans 12:1-2
“We instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.” -1 Thessalonians 4:1
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” -Galatians 6:9
“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.” -James 4:17
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” -Matthew 7:12
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” -Ephesians 4:32
Whatever blessings I obtain here (including existing) I do my best to recognize and appreciate. During this past very long and challenging season, I’ve learned to relish in the small things, because when the bigger blessings come, I will be able to handle them in a way that honors the gift itself.
According to The Creator, you only get one life to live, so make it count! Not in the way the world tells you, which results in usually a lot of betrayal, selfishness, and desire of worldly possessions that never truly satisfy you. But in the way that truly matters; in a way that feeds your soul. And that’s priceless. I pray that God will remove the scales and open your eyes to realize The Truth.
