...when Jesus Christ (Yahushua Ha'mashiach) walked the earth.
If you haven’t noticed, I’m Black. Don’t get me wrong–I love being Black and wouldn’t have it any other way–but, time hasn’t been kind to my race of people. So, when it comes to “time traveling”, I wouldn’t be in a good way. I know, so people think racism is an “American thing”, but even when I lived overseas, it was an issue; even with my so-called in-laws on extreme levels. Don’t worry, I don’t hold that against them. People are who they are. It’s better that I realize and accept. I know what the world thinks of black people, so I’m no longer surprise when I’m faced with that kind of prejudice.
There’s a reason behind the hate Black people receive, but in order to truly understand it, you’ll have to read the Word of God. It explains everything you need to know, if you pay close attention.
“And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the Lord will lead you away.” -Deuteronomy 28:37
God told us that the world would hate us–deeply and bizarrely mistreat us–seemingly for no good reason. I know, what I’m saying sounds unreal, because all this time, history has taught us a different story, but I urge you to do your own research to discover the truth.
Because there isn’t really a safe time for a Black person to live–ANYWHERE–if I could time travel, the only time period I would choose would be when Jesus Christ was born and walked this earth.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” -Isaiah 9:6
That must have been the best time in all the existence of the world! I don’t envy because God commands us not to, but, I would have loved to have met Him face to face while here in “the valley”!
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” -Matthew 11:28-30
He must have been such a pleasure to be around, and I know it to be true because wherever He was, crowds upon crowds of people gathered! I would have been one of those people, not only looking for a miracle (which is Him in the flesh), but always just wanting to be around my Father and really speak with Him and hang out with the most genuine and kind being ever in existence.
“But now even more the report about him went abroad, and great crowds gathered to hear him and to be healed of their infirmities.” -Luke 5:15
“So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains… and he healed them.
And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.” -Matthew 4:24-25
“Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea
and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon.
When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him.
And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him.” -Mark 3:7-9
So many people wanted to hurt Him (kill Him!) even though He was the epitome of goodness and love. He was God in the flesh!!!
“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature,
and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.” -Hebrews 1-3“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
for through him God created everything…
He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.” -Colossians 1:15-17
So many people didn’t even recognize their own God because it was too difficult to believe that He loves us so much that He would come down and dwell here–let alone die for us.
But he is that loving, that loyal, that kind.
And that is exactly what I love Him so much. He’s a personality you’d regret never knowing, because He is THE personality! If He were walking the earth, I think I would follow Him anywhere, even if I wasn’t one of His disciples, because this world is so so cold, and I know for certain that my Father wouldn’t reject me or turn me away. He would welcome me like the prodigal son, running to me with arms wide open–full of pure, true love.
That’s love He’s got: it’s what I literally live for. I love Him and I’m so grateful, even if I’m not walking with Jesus back then, He is still walking with me, spiritually. He resides in me as the Holy Spirit. I will always have a piece of Him until the day He takes me home with Him. And that is more than enough for me, because I know that He will keep His promises.
What about you? What time period would you zip to if you could?
