...a thrift store.
I’ve always loved thrift stores—and I still shop in them regularly for a good deal. In fact, I think I enjoy them more than stores that only sell brand-new items. There’s something meaningful about taking something old and giving it a new life. It reminds me so much of how God works in us.
God is in the business of renewal. He takes what feels worn, broken, forgotten—and makes it new again. I can testify that He has done that in my life, time and time again. When life gets heavy or painful, He never fails to rescue me. He refreshes my spirit and restores my hope. Just like an old, overlooked item in a thrift shop can still hold value and purpose, so do we—especially in God’s eyes.
Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to thrifting. Maybe it’s a reflection of the way God created me—wanting to see value in what others may overlook. I’d be delighted to have a thrift store of my own someday. It wouldn’t just be a business, but a joyful hobby, a peaceful retreat, and maybe even a quiet ministry. I’d fill the shop with quality items that still have life in them, ready to bless someone else’s home or journey.
It’s not just about secondhand treasures. It’s about the deeper truth that nothing is ever too old, too broken, or too far gone for God to use.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:11
“And He who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’”
— Revelation 21:5
So yes, if I could own a business, it would be a thrift store—one that reflects the gentle, redeeming work of God. Because in His hands, nothing is wasted.
Yeah…NOTHING is wasted nor is it in vain.
I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you!
