…to Help a Sister in Christ.
Today, I tried to help a sister in Christ find direction in her personal life trial. She lives in Los Angeles and, as seen on the news lately, the city of angels was on fire. She took this photo and sent it to me. Luckily it didn’t reach her home, but as you can see, the fire wasn’t very far away. As she opened up about her the situation she was living through, I felt the Lord nudging me to listen, encourage, and remind her of God’s unending love and guidance.
God called us to love and support one another, especially in times of need. We live in a world where people are often shunned, reject, or left to deal with their pain alone. But God never abandons us. he is always present, ready to guide us, comfort us, and take care of us.
The truth is something I’ve experienced in my own lif over and over again. In every trial, in every low moment, God has shown up to offer hope, healing, and direction. And now, I try to reflect the at same love to others.
I wasn’t able to do much but talk to her, be there for her as she put all of her faith in God; that He was in control.
God’s Command to Love and Help One Another
The Bible is clear about how we’re called to care for one another. When we bear each other’s burdens and extend kindness, we fulfill the law of Christ:
- “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” —Galatians 6:2
- ”Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” —Romans 12:10
We are not meant to walk through life alone. God designed us to live in community, supporting and uplifting one another with love.
God’s Faithful Care for Us
One of the most beautiful aspects of God’s character is His faithfulness. He promises to take care of us, guide us, and never leave us alone in our struggles. this is a promise we can rest in and share with others:
- “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” —1 Peter 5:7
- ”The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.” —Psalm 34:18
- ”So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am you God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10
Encouraging Other to Seek God
When we help others, it’s an opportunity to point them toward God’s unchanging love and grace. He is the ultimate source of peace and direction. Even when we eel weak or unsure of what to say, God equips us to be a light for Him.
- “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” —Galatians 6:9-10
- ”Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” —1 Thessalonians 5:11
Final Thoughts
Today, as I helped my sister in Christ, I was reminded of God’s heart for His children. He wants us to love one another, to be a source of light and hope in a world full of darkness. Whether through a listening ear, a kind word, or sa simple act of service, we reflect His love in powerful ways.
If you’r feeling burdened today, know this: God will never shun you or reject you. He loves you, and He’s ready to guide you through whatever trial you’re facing. The real questions is: Do you trust Him to do it? Let us also reflect that love by helping those who need it.
”And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” —Hebrews 10:24
