[Forever]
…I guess that doesn’t really make much sense, huh? But what I mean to say is…I feel ageless.
For one, I don’t look my age (whatever that means). Most people think I’m in my early to mid-twenties. If it wasn’t’ for the few white I hairs on the sides of my hairline, no one would ever question it. And in addition to my appearance, I am bursting with energy, full of life! I work with children and I’m able to keep up with them each day because of endless stamina God his blessed with with.
I stopped counting my age many birthdays ago. It just doesn’t matter to me that much anymore. I’m not sure if it ever did. I am a person—an adult roaming the earth, yes—but most importantly, I’m a child of God.
”So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” —2 Corinthians 4:18
My age doesn’t define me, nor does it dictate the impact I can make in the world. Whether I am young or old in eyes of others, God has shown me time and again that He uses anyone, regardless of their stage in life, to fulfill His purposes.
Take David, for example. he was just a young shepherd by when God chose him to be king. Or Sarah, who thought her age disqualified her from God’s promises, yet He gave her the joy of bearing a child in her old age.
- “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” —1 Timothy 4:12
- ”Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” —Isaiah 46:4
Every day I wake up, I just go about my day—as me, a child of God. My mission is not tied to my age but to the purpose He’s given me. I want to live my life serving Him spreading His love, and making a positive impact on the people around me.
The truth is, our true identity and “age” are found in Christ. He renews our strength, refreshes our spirits, and give us a timeless perspective:
- “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of who me shall I be afraid?” —Psalm 27:1
- ”But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” —Isaiah 40:31
So while my physical body might have its moments of reminding me I’m human, my spirit feel forever young. Why? Because I belong to God, and in Him, I am renewed each and every single day.
Thanks for reading.
I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you,
xoxo
