…An Ethiopian.
Good day, mate! Welcome back to RozieLand!
I’m not Ethiopian, by the way, though even they will greet me everyday with a warm “Selam”. I’ll nod out of respect, but it’s something I’ve addressed countless times in my life. There’s a reason people think that, as my ancestors come from a region very close to Ethiopia, near Africa.
Honestly, it’s a bit strange to be constantly mistaken for something you’re not—but misconceptions about me have been a lifetime constant, even from those who’d spent many years by my side! As for my actual lineage? I imagine the answer would shock most of you! But God reminds me that such things aren’t the most important when we look at the big picture.
So here’s the most important truth about me that I want you to know: I am a well-loved child of God, the Creator of the Universe!
There was a time when I lived as a bit of a rebel. Silly concepts like nations and lineage held a space in my consciousness without any grounds. But God, in His infinite mercy, came to my rescue. I didn’t even know I needed saving at the time, but my Father saw me—He saw His daughter in distress—and He ran to me like the father to the prodigal son. Even since then, I’ve looked to Him for everything.
Let me be crystal clear: everything in my life is because of Him.
I’ve learned to trust Him completely. He has been my protector, my provider, and my constant presence. When others left me for dead (literally), God stood by me. He never lets me fall.
Saying I’m grateful will never convey the feelings that overwhelmed me about Him.
I’m an incredibly loyal person by nature, but for much of my life, my loyalty was misplaced. Now, my loyalty belongs to God, The One who has been there for me in every trial, The One who continues to show me love, grace and kindness every single day. He is my everything, forever and ever.
Because of this, I can confidently say, my joy never leaves me. Every single day, I wake up with a smile, and I know it’s because God is my source. His light shines through my heart, and even when others don’t understand it, I simply sing: Hallelujah!
Now, I want to encourage you—yes, you—to seek Him in your own life. God is waiting for you. He’s been longing for you to turn to Him, and all you have to do is take that first step: just start talking to Him. Anticipate a response.
Let Him surprise you with what happens next. But remember, sincerity is key. God will honor an honest heart.
Here’s a little food for thought. I’m asking you to keep these things in mind today:
No matter what people perceive us to be, our true identity is found in being crafted by God:
“But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and we all are the work of Your hand.” —Isaiah 64:8
You are unique—like a unicorn!—and special, chosen by God for a real purpose:
”Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” —Jeremiah 1:5
God’s care and love are constant and personal, reminding us of His everlasting presence:
”The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” —Zephaniah 3:17
An open invitation to draw near to God and experience His love and grace:
”Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” —Isaiah 55:6
No matter the misconceptions or trials, God is our unshakable source of strength:
”The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” —Psalm 27:1
God is the reason I have life, joy and purpose. These are my testimonies of His goodness! And I want to share The Truth with you today and everyday. Each of you are special, deeply loved, and wonderfully made. Just give Him a chance to show you.
I thank you for coming to see me again at my Human Abstract Gallery.
Until next time.
I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you,
xoxo
