...I'm talking with or singing to God.
I love talking with God (yes, I said “with”). It really makes me feel close to Him—especially when things are challenging. But the moment I begin to speak with Him, hope begins to rise. And He answers me; He speaks right back to me—reassuring me, providing direction and clarity. Sometimes it takes a little while to hear from Him, but lately, He’s been speaking promptly. I’m grateful to have that kind of relationship with Him.
You might be thinking, “God doesn’t talk to people like He used to in the Bible.” But I’m here to tell you, God doesn’t change. He is still the same. He always has been.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8
He still speaks to some of us. Maybe you’ve just got to be open to that possibility in your own life. Try it out and see for yourself. I mentioned fasting in a previous post, and I’ll mention it again here: if you’re longing to hear from God and feel like you haven’t, fasting may be a beautiful place to start. There are many different kinds of fasts—each serving different purposes—so do your research and find one that fits your spiritual season. But no matter which fast you do, let your focus be entirely on Him and His Word.
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” – James 4:8a
When you seek Him with your whole heart, He will show up. It may not be in the way you imagined, but it will be clear. That’s all part of getting to know who He really is. And it’s a journey—a long, beautiful, sometimes messy, but always worth-it journey.
God is the best thing that ever happened to me.
Discovering Him in this new, intimate way over the past few years has cemented my identity in Him. He’s patient. He waited for me while I was caught up in the world and in my flesh. And when I finally turned back to Him, He didn’t turn me away. He received me with open arms.
“The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” – Psalm 103:8
I’m free now. Free to see clearly. Free to choose life. And I wouldn’t trade this life with Him for anything in the world.
I pray all the time for the people who read my little secret blog posts or stumble across my quiet YouTube videos—I pray you’ll be blessed with an increase in your relationship with God. I want you to experience the joy and intimacy He’s gifted me. It’s real. He’s real. He’s still working miracles in my life today—relocating me, realigning things, giving me honest, peaceful opportunities. And that’s just the beginning. As long as I remain in Him and ask according to His will, He blesses me.
“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” – John 15:7
And when I sing to Him?
It feels like I’m putting on a concert just for my Lord. Especially on Shabbat. There’s joy, reverence, praise—and this sense that He’s smiling down on me. Singing to Him is sacred. Talking to Him is sacred. Laughing and crying in His presence is sacred.
Through my communication with God, I’ve gained a forever best friend who watches over me in every moment.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
It’s the best thing ever. And I wouldn’t change a single thing.
Thank you so much for stopping through once again.
I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you!
