[Jesus Christ]

He is my hero and my greatest example to imitate. I live for His kindness, as I don’t receive much of it in this world–whether it be because of my Race, gender, nationality, or unwillingness to be controlled/abused. I’ve seen what this world has to offer. I don’t care much for being a part of it anymore. I’ve realized over the past few years that I will never belong; because I’m not from here, but just passing though. I understand that this probably won’t make much sense to most people these days, but it’s simply the truth that I’ve learned in my experience living as well as confirmed by Scripture:

“But our citizenship is in heaven.
And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
-Philippians 3:20

“Do not love the world or the things in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.”
-1 John 2:15-17

“I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.”
-John 17:14-16

Jesus sacrificed Himself for our sake, because we are so selfish and evil at heart. Most of us will never admit that, and those of us that do admit it are labeled as outcasts. Still, it doesn’t change the fact that Jesus came to save us, even those who hate Him. That takes such a humble heart, and an unfathomable amount of love, kindness, mercy, grace and care.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” -John 3:16

“We love because He first loved us.” -1 John 4:19

I don’t know how He does it, because it’s challenging out here be that perfect in character. I find it difficult sometimes, especially with those who hate me (for no legitimate reason) to love them. But because God loves me, I love others. I have empathy even when I’m chastised or even if they try to ruin my life; even if the leave me for dead, never even looking back once. It’s hard, but God gives me the strength to do that. And I hope He’s pleased with me.

“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” -Matthew 5:44

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” — Luke 23:34

He has set the example on how to live–to be a better person–and I’m trying my best to do as He asks of me. He tells us how to forgive:

“Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.’” -Matthew 18:21-22

He tells us to be kind and compassionate:

“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” -Luke 6:35

He tells us to help those in need when we can:

“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” -Luke 14:13-14

He tells us not to worry, but to count on Him:

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” -Matthew 6:25-34

He has our backs, even those who don’t care about Him at all and take Him completely for granted. I really look forward to being with Him after this life is over. There are so many beautiful things about the world that makes me think of what it must have looked like in its original design (in the garden of Eden). But it is fallen now, and the wicked nature of most people dims its beauty. The best thing about my role model is the fact that loved me so much that He died for me. He died for me so that I can have the chance to be with Him forever in a place that doesn’t involve the cruelty of this world. In that place, there is only love and peace. I hope I’m written in the book of life, so that I can spend my eternity wrapped up in His arms; loved and safe for keeps.

“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.” -Revelation 20:12

“Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” -Revelation 21:27

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” -Revelation 21:4

“For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and He will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” -Revelation 7:17

I’m going to end this post here, because I could go on and on about Him. I love Him. I miss Him all the time. And most of all, I can’t wait to be with Him forever; The One that never left or abandoned me. He couldn’t even imagine doing so. And that means everything to me.

I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you!
