…no one.

Honestly, I really enjoy music. It inspires me, calms me, and sometimes makes me move and sing along. But I’ve come to realize that I don’t have any desire to meet the people who create it. Music is a powerful force—it can uplift, but it can also be incredibly manipulative. Once I began to really listen to the lyrics of many songs I used to enjoy, I saw that most of them weren’t sending a positive or God-honoring message.

These days, I mostly listen to instrumental music or songs that are centered on God—music that lifts my spirit and brings my focus back to Him. The truth is, the devil does use music as a tool to influence and deceive. That might sound extreme to some, but if you truly listen—really pay attention—to the lyrics of popular music today, you’ll notice how destructive many of the messages are.

We live in a time where the world is upside down. What used to be considered wrong is now celebrated, and what used to be good is mocked or labeled as judgmental. Sinful behaviors have become normalized: fornication, drunkenness, lying, stealing, cheating, multiple marriages, even things like masturbation—it’s all painted as harmless or even empowering in many songs.

Isaiah 5:20 says it plainly:
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness…”

That’s why I no longer idolize music. I enjoy the songs I can while I’m here on this Earth, but I no longer cling to the world’s version of entertainment. I’ve let go of trying to fit in or stay in tune with worldly trends, and I’m okay with that.

Instead, I look forward to the song that will be sung at the throne of God—pure, holy, and filled with reverence.

“And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.'” — Revelation 5:9

“And they sang a new song before the throne… No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.” — Revelation 14:3

That’s the music I long to hear.
And one day, by God’s grace, I’ll be there to sing it too.

Thank you so much for stopping by. As always…

I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you!
