...stop caring so much.

In short, I’ve learned that most matters in life just don’t matter. Some may interpret my mindset as one of someone who has given up, and maybe, in many ways, I have. But I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I’ve been through so much in my short life–oh, the stories I could tell! I used to place things and people on pedestals where they didn’t belong. I’ve had it all and lost it–in the most bizarre ways. But I no longer ask myself why. In fact, as I’ve already said, I just don’t care–not in a way that stems from apathy, but in a way that brings peace.

I am more or less surrendered to what God wants for me, and nothing else. That’s the only safe place I trust the matters of my life. If something isn’t from Him, I don’t want it. I’ve even ceased in caring about the choices of others.

“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.” (Psalm 37:5).

It took me a long time to get to this point, but I’m here now. I’m free. I don’t worry about trivial things anymore. Worry is pointless.

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” -Luke 12:25

When rare moments of anxiety creep in–whether from my own thoughts or from the weight of someone else’s burdens–I quickly come back to my senses. I remember that those emotions won’t bring a solution. So, I turn to God, even when I don’t understand, and I put my trust in His plan for my life.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” -Proverbs 3:5-6

It’s not easy to trust like that, but He never fails me. He always comes through. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of waiting on Him while He works.

“The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.” -Lamentations 3:25

I’ve learned that I don’t have to have all the answers and that everything doesn’t have to make sense in order for me to trust Him. And that–that is true peace for me.

Thank you for stopping by.

I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you,
