...spend it with a good, God-fearing man made just for me.

Yes, I want to spend it with a man with a heart of flesh towards me—not stone.

A man who will accept me for who I am—not endlessly trying to punish me. He would never abandon me or lie to me, especially after a marriage. He would be loyal and kind towards me. He would care about me and my life. He would let me be a part of his. He would cherish me. He would show me a lot of real, true love.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” — Ephesians 5:25

And I could call on him, and he would answer. He’d stick up for me. He would never cheat on me. If we were to have an argument, he would want to make up, to forgive and be forgiven. He wouldn’t let petty issues keep us apart.

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” — Ephesians 4:2

He wouldn’t care what other people think of me, even his family. He would stand by my side because he knows me.

“But Ruth replied, ‘Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.’” — Ruth 1:16

He would be the real deal, even on a lazy day. He would pray with me and attend church with me. He would have a relationship with God, even before knowing me. He wouldn’t be perfect, but he would be everything I need in a life partner—most of all, made by God just for me.

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

If I had someone like that, every day would be a date night for me. But while I’m waiting for God to bring him to me, God is all of those things to me.

“For your Maker is your husband—the Lord Almighty is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.” — Isaiah 54:5

He’s been showing me what it is like to be genuinely loved. He has shown me what it’s like when a husband takes care of his bride.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” — Jeremiah 31:3

He has stood beside me and taught me how to love and forgive too. He will be the one to bring my husband to me—the one He’s been working on and molding to be good to me, just like I was molded to be good to him.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4

My dream date night is simple: to have a real, true, God-fearing husband to share my life and grow (with in God in the center) into our oldest years, full and cherish on both ends. All the qualities I’ve mentioned here I am prepared to give. I won’t settle for anything less…not anymore.

What about you? What’s your dream date night? And with whom?

I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you!
