...I love you.

It’s true. I love everyone, even those who hate me. I know what some of you are thinking: how can I love someone I’ve never even met? I used to think the same way and believe me when I say I understand how that concept can be confusing. But when I think about all of us–every human being that has ever lived on this beautiful planet–I see something greater. I see how uniquely made we all are, how each of us has something special to offer, and how we were created with a divine purpose–separate and individually.

What purpose?

Only God can reveal it to us, because He’s the One who designed us.

For much of my life, I didn’t know what my purpose was. I only knew that I was deeply kind and, at times, too naive for my own good. I used to resent that part of myself because many took advantage of it–even when I was on guard–mistaking my kindness for weakness. I wanted to change, to become harder, less open–even cold–so that I wouldn’t be hurt again. I thought, “If I were more like them, then I could go on and not care too”. Oh, how wrong I was about all of that…

But I’ve learned that true strength isn’t in shutting people out; it’s in remaining open despite the wounds of the past.

You’re not supposed to let negative experiences or people change you into a worse off character. If so, then you’re doing life wrong. I won’t be paying the hurt I’ve experienced forward. It stops in my story–here–with me!

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” –Matthew 5:44

God designed me to be empathetic, and that’s something I can’t change nor do I want to anymore. It’s a really good trait to carry in life. I’m honored to do so. Through Him, I’ve learned how to love wisely. I no longer allow myself to be used or deceived, but I don’t withhold love from anyone, either. Love is not about being foolish–placing people before God–it’s about discerning how to love each person according to wisdom, whether from a distance or up close. God has shown me how to do that with grace.

“And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” –1 Peter 4:8

I don’t want anyone to suffer or perish due to lack of knowledge. I genuinely care about what ultimately happens to people. That is why I am writing and recording every day. For you! I can see through most people nowadays. I know very well that even when someone seems to have it all together, beneath the surface, struggles often remain. That’s why I share God’s heart, because I too want the best for everyone. And so, I don’t waste opportunities to tell people that I love them.

That’s what God wants from us, and my soul agrees with that sentiment:

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” –Mark 12:30-31

Love is not just a feeling (it’s not really a feeling at all really, but a BEING). It’s a commandment. It is the essence of who God is, and if we are made in His image, then it must also be the essence of who we are too.

So if I could choose a personal slogan, it would be this: I love you. I love you more than any article I could ever write. Because love is what God has given me in abundance–He decided long ago before I was born that this planet needed a girl named Rosalyn with a pure heart to share with others–and so, I give it to the world!

What about you?

Do you have a slogan you’re always saying more than anything?

What is your design?

What is the purpose that God has blessed you with?

If you don’t know yet, I’m praying that He’ll reveal it to you.

For now,

I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you. (I guess this, too, has become another slogan for me) <3
