…my mother.
Though it was just a text conversation, we were finishing a discussion from the night before about a summer job I recently interviewed for. It’s a completely new experience for me, and I was nervous—unsure if I was even qualified for the role, let alone confident enough to perform it well.
But my mom reassured me with gentle, faith-filled words: “If God intends it for you, then it will be yours.” Her encouragement reminded me of the verse in Psalm 23:5, which says,
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”
Even when I feel unqualified or overlooked, God’s plan for me isn’t dependent on my résumé or my fears—it’s grounded in His will and His timing.
Sometimes, I think we chase so hard after things we were never meant to catch. But what’s truly meant for me—what God has ordained—will come. As Isaiah 55:11 says,
“So shall My word be that goes out from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
This job opportunity feels like one of those things that’s been placed directly in my path, not because I strived endlessly for it, but because it may be part of His purpose for me in this season.
So I’m going to take a leap of faith. And if it’s God’s will, I’ll walk into this new opportunity with His strength, not mine—trusting that He will equip me to do it well.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13
