Me.

I’m the newest member. I feel as though I’m changing every single day; meeting a new version of myself every day. Sometimes, I don’t change at all, or even worse: not for the best. But, I’m working on it. And so far, God has allowed me to have that grace. I’m changing all the time. The core of who I am remains, but, just like everyone else, I’m trying to figure things out too. I’ve been under the weather, spiritually too. So I’ve been patient with myself as I go through another storm of changes. Still, I’m determined to come out of this better than I’ve ever been. I’m going to need God for this, as usual. I think if you’re learning and growing, then you never stop changing either. I think it depends, however, on how you wish to change.

Change is inevitable, but transformation is a choice. The Bible tells us in Romans 12:2:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

I may not have all the answers right now, but I know I don’t want to conform to the negativity and struggles around me. Instead, I want to allow God to renew my mind, to guide me into a version of myself that walks in faith rather than fear.

Right now, I feel like I’m in a refining process, a difficult but necessary one. James 1:2-4 reminds me:

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

It’s hard to feel joyful when going through the storm, but I know there is purpose in this.

Some days, I feel weary. Some days, I wonder if I’m making progress at all. But I take comfort in knowing that God is not finished with me yet. Philippians 1:6 says:

“Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

I may feel like I’m starting over, like I’m the newest version of myself every day, but God is shaping me into something greater.

So, I will keep trusting, keep growing and keep allowing Him to lead me. Because if I’m going to change, I want it to be in His hands.
