…Novena.

It’s a fictional trilogy I’ve been working on for years. It’s more than just a story, it’s a world I can escape to, a place where I can unwind and be creative. Writing it has been a journey filled with passion, thought and deep reflection. It’s a mix of politics, religion, war, romance and most importantly, God.

But as much as I pour my heart into this book, I often wonder: are our lives like a storybook that God is writing and reading? Psalm 139:16 says:

“Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”

Before I was even born, God had already written my story. Every joy, every trial, every moment–He has known it all from the beginning.

When I write Novena, I carefully craft the details of my characters lives. I know their struggles, their victories, and where their journey will lead. In the same way, God, the greatest Author, has written our lives with purpose. Jeremiah 29:11 says:

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Even when life feels uncertain, God has already written the next page, and He knows how our story will end. Yet, unlike my fictional characters, we have free will. We are not just characters in a book; we are participants in the story. The choices we make are real, and they matter. Proverbs 16:9 reminds us:

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”

Sometimes, life takes unexpected turns, and the pages of our story unfold in ways we don’t understand. But even when we can’t see the full picture, God knows exactly what He is doing.

One day, just as I will finish writing Novena, the books in heaven will be opened. Revelation 20:12 says:

“And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.”

That verse is a reminder that our lives are not just fleeting moments; they are recorded stories with eternal significance. Every action, every choice–it is all being written.

At the end of my life, I don’t just want my name on a book cover. I want it to be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Revelation 21:27 says:

“But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

That is the book that truly matters–the one where God has written the names of those who belong to Him.

Writing Novena has been a source of joy, but more than anything, it reminds me that I, too, am part of a greater story–one that God Himself is authoring. And even when I don’t understand the plot twists in my own life, I trust that He is writing something beautiful. One day, I hope to finish and publish Novena and share this world with others. But even more than that, I pray that when my story ends, I will be welcomed into God’s eternal kingdom, where the greatest story ever told truly begins.

Thanks for stopping by!

I pray many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many blessings over you.
