...Fall and Spring.

I love the fall: the colors, the crisp, slightly chilly air, the atmosphere it creates—relaxation, a mellow calmness, a time to breathe and slow down. It reflects my personality in many ways. Fall, to me, feels like a gentle “easy-up,” a moment to just be and reflect without the pressure of rushing forward. It’s a comforting season, one I always look forward to.

But then there’s Spring. Spring is alive. It’s bright, fresh, and full of new beginnings. It symbolizes a fresh start, where good things feel just around the corner. It’s like standing on the edge of something beautiful, with a soft wind whispering, “just wait and see.”

Right now, I feel like my life’s season matches the season currently happening in my area: Spring. I believe that many good and wonderful things are coming up just beyond the next horizon. I can feel it. There’s a sense of expectancy and hope that’s hard to explain but impossible to ignore. I feel like God is filling my soul with all the best feelings. He so masterfully creates beauty within nature. He loves us the most, so imagine what He has in store for His children!

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you—you of little faith?” -Matthew 6:28-30

And I’m holding tightly to faith in God, because of His incredible kindness, because of His promises, as found in the Bible, will never return void.

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” -Isaiah 55:11

That’s a promise I stand on as I look toward what’s next. I’m trusting God fully in this season, believing things will improve drastically—if not completely.

Every season is a reminder of His mercy, His creative mastery, His patience, and His love. The world continues to spin, the sun rises and sets, the seasons shift on schedule—all because of Him.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot…” -Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

“You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth; you have made summer and winter” -Psalm 74:17

“He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; He suspends the earth over nothing. He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. He covers the face of the full moon, spreading His clouds over it. He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness.” -Job 26:7-10

The things God does with the atmosphere, with the weather, the colors, the cycles of the earth—they deserve appreciation on levels we fail to give Him. Painters and poets may try to capture it, but truly, human artists are merely drawing from the work of the original Artist. Even when we don’t realize it, we’re always recreating God in all that we do.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” -Psalm 19:1

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made…” -Romans 1:20

“The moon marks off the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down. You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl. The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God. The sun rises, and they steal away; they return and lie down in their dens. Then people go out to their work, to their labor until evening. How many are Your works, Lord! In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures.” -Psalm 104:19-24

Whether it’s fall, spring, or any other season, there’s beauty to appreciate in it. Even if life brings challenges, the atmosphere still speaks of hope. Tomorrow isn’t promised, so whatever season I’m in, I’ll choose to be grateful. The world is God’s canvas, and we’re living within His masterpiece. To think, with the utterance of words like “Let there be light”, the world as we know it came to be:

“And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.’ And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.” -Genesis 1:14-18

He is the true King of Kings, sitting on His Throne with a beautiful rainbow encircling it.

“He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.” -Isaiah 40:22

What about you? What is your favorite season?
