…I’m alive!
Welcome back to RozieLand! Today, I’m taking a moment to reflect on something I sometimes take for granted: the gift of life. The fact that I woke up this morning, able to breathe and move, is no small thing. It’s a reason to celebrate! Life itself is such a precious gift, one that God created with great care and purpose.
”This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” —Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
Every new day is an opportunity given by God—a blank page for us to fill with gratitude, joy, love and purpose. It’s a chance to honor Him with how we live; to share His goodness with others, and to grow closer to Him.
When I think about being alive, I am reminded of the very breath that sustains me. It’s God’s breath that gave life to humanity from the very beginning.
”And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.” —Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
This breath is sacred. It’s not ours to take for granted. It’s truly is a gift from God that sustains us each and every moment.
”I know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which yet have of God, and ye are not your own?” —1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)
Our lives are not our own. They belong to God, and with this life, we have the privilege of glorifying Him. As we dwell in the land of the living, we have the responsibility to shine His light and walk in His truth.
”I had fainted, unless I had believe to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” —Psalm 27:13 (KJV)
I don’t want to miss the beauty of the life God has given me. I want to use this day, and every day, to glorify Him, to love others, and to spread His message of hope and salvation.
”The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of Almighty hath given me life.” —Job 33:4 (KJV)
Life is not just something to endure—it’s something to treasure. Even on the hard days, the fact that I am here is evidence of God’s mercy and grace. He wanted me to exist! He thought of creating me: Rosalyn to live a life in this world. That’s so special. I’m so grateful, so much that I never question my worth again.
So, here’s to today—because it is special. Every day is. Let us rejoice in the gift of life, using every breath to honor The One who gave it to us; in love. If you’re reading this, take a moment to breathe deeply and thank God for today, for His creation, and for the purpose He has for your life.
